Morning Guests

Friday, July 2
A cockroach greeted me in the shower. Mickey got rid of him.  Samuel did the honors the next morning.
The view
Our apartment is on the second floor of Senior Juan's home.  We have a beautiful view of the Cordillera Central mountain range.  The view is shared by hundreds of satellite t.v. dishes, solar panels, electrical lines and backup water tanks.  We eat our meals on this upstairs patio.  The days are hot--always over 90 degrees, but the evenings are in the low 80's.  There is a generous mango tree that drops it's fruit from the tree next door.  Our street is called Calle Emelio Fagot (Fay-go. please.) and it is busy and LOUD.  Cars, ambulances, stereos, motorcycles---every kind of vehicular noise, and even an occasional horse.  Sometimes it's so loud we can't hear each other speak.  Our back rooms are quieter, and Chloe's room is fairly peaceful with the exception of the chirping of hundreds of coqui frogs!
