The Arrival

Our view of the Caribbean Sea
So cool to see the lights of San Juan as we approached from the air last night!  We were a little scared when it appeared that the driver hadn't shown up.  Our hearts were starting to sink when we saw the "Michael Buhl" sign, held by a gentleman named Fernando who would take us over the mountains to the south side of the island.  Poor Fernando loaded eleven bags and two car seats onto his "Puerto Rican Adventures" van, and we began our journey.  We reached at the Hilton Ponce around eleven and got to hear the little coqui frogs peeping outside the hotel when we arrived.

We discovered that HUGE iguanas roam the property (2 feet long!), and Samuel loves to try to catch them.  He actually caught a little one about the size of a birthday candle, and had a big one by the tail....but alas, it was the one that got away.
